Research tools for analysing changes in Wikipedia.

Wikify.io is a technology and research project of Wikiganda, a public-interest initiative working on investigations, important public issues, and the quality of open knowledge.

Wikipedia is one of the main sources of knowledge for people, search engines, and AI systems. That is why those who care how they or their interests are described there try to influence it: large corporations, lobbyists, government bodies, PR agencies. Their methods include covert promotion, coordinated pushing of a favoured point of view, and gradual replacement of sources. Such changes are often invisible in the finished text and show up only in the edit history.

This history is what we work with: we reconstruct how articles reached their current form, which edits and sources appeared and disappeared, how the wording changed, and where similar actions recur across articles.

To do this, we are building tools to collect and analyse Wikipedia’s history: edits, sources, editor activity, and the connections between them.

We do not provide public access to our tools.

However, editors, journalists, and researchers can ask us to look into the history of a specific article or topic.
